How our double-glazed sash windows are made

We use the best quality materials and build to the highest standards

Made-to-measure exact replicas of your original sash windows

Exact replicas of your original sash windows are designed and manufactured by copying all the period features, such as Victorian mouldings, horn styles, horizontal or vertical glazing bars, curved, arched or shaped top sashes. Soft white spacers are used inside the sealed units to reduce the often dark or silver, ugly sight lines usually seen in double-glazed sash windows.

The double-glazed sealed units are bedded in to the new double-glazed sash window frames with a hybrid polymer which looks like traditional putty but has superior longevity and is made for use with sealed units. This means that from outside the sashes look almost indistinguishable from traditional single-glazed sashes.

Most companies use wooden glazing beads to bed in the sealed units. These do not look traditional, or as neat, and tend to weather and discolour more quickly. This means that your new sash windows look like your original period windows, conserving the heritage of your house.

Thermally efficient for a warm, cosy home and reduced energy usage

We use the best quality 16mm thick 4-8-4 Argon Sealed units with a central-pane U value of 1.6. We supply Toughened glass on all upper and lower sealed units for safety and security. Most companies only toughen the lower units to save on cost. Your new double-glazed sash windows will be fitted with all new draught-proof beads and brushes,

External sound reduction for a quieter home

Our double-glazed sashes provide significant sound reduction compared with original single-glazed windows. The new double-glazed sash windows are fitted with draught-proofed beadings with hidden Weatherpile brushes which reduce noise, and eliminate rattles and vibrations from external noise, such as traffic. Resulting in a much more peaceful and relaxing home.

Highest quality sustainable materials and locally made

All our windows are made from Accoya timber as standard, the worlds leading high tech long life wood which has properties that match or exceed those of the best tropical hardwoods and treated woods, yet is manufactured using wood from sustainable sources

We supply Toughened glass on all upper and lower sealed units for safety and security. Many companies only toughen the lower units to save on cost.

All paints used are micro-porous, external grade, and low VOC.

New top quality brass (or other finish of your choice) ball-bearing pulleys are fitted. These look beautiful and cope with the increased weight of the new sashes smoothly and quietly. New high quality period locks are supplied and fitted also available in a range of finishes.

Our sash windows are manufactured locally, just 7 miles away.
